A Touch of Class Music
Todd Teske has been hailed as one of the country's finest interpreters of Baroque music. The Denver Post described his J.S. Bach St. Matthew Evangelist performance as "…world class… (he) brought a lieder singer's sensitivity to the role… one of the top ten performances of 1995…" He was just engaged by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Bach and Schubert last December 2006. In October Mr. Teske toured with the world-class chamber choir CONSPIRARE out of Austin, Texas. Todd just finished a live recording with the Denver Brass as their Irish Tenor. Currently Mr. Teske is enjoying touring throughout the United States and internationally with THE CHEFS an opera/comedy troupe.
Mr. Teske won second place at the Richard Tauber International Tenor Competition in New York City. In 1997 he made his New York debut in Handel's ALEXANDER'S FEAST with the Dessoff Choirs, Handel's MESSIAH with the Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue and three Bach CANTATAS with The Canticum Novum Singers. Todd has also soloed in J.S. Bach's MAGNIFICAT and CANTATAS 1&125 with Helmuth Rilling in Stuttgart, Germany. Todd made his European debut at the Giessen Stadttheater in Germany performing the title roles in Milhaud's LE PAUVRE MATELOT and the world premiere of Jean Francaix's LE DIABLE BOITEUX. Local performances also include Bach's ST MATTHEW PASSION at Augustana Lutheran Church, BACH CANTATAS and MASS IN B MINOR at St. John's Cathedral (Denver Bach Society) Bach's St. MATTHEW PASSION Cherry Creek Presbyterian (Denver), St. MATTHEW PASSION and CHRISTMAS ORATORIO (Fort Collins, CO). Recent opera roles include Tamino (cover) in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, Peter Quint in THE TURN OF THE SCREW, Jupiter in SEMELE, Arturo in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR, the Holy Fool in BORIS GODUNOV and Acis in ACIS AND GALATEA all with the Colorado Opera Festival. Opera Colorado (Denver) has engaged Todd for the fourth Jew in SALOME, Ferrando (cover) in COSI FAN TUTTE, and Curzio and Basillio in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO. Todd has also performed Ferrando in Providence, Rhode Island.
